About Okanogan County

Nestled into the foothills of the Okanogan Highlands in north-central Washington state, Okanogan County is the largest county by area in the state. OBHC is located in Omak, the county’s largest city. Surrounding cities include Okanogan, Tonasket, Oroville, Brewster, Pateros, Twisp, Winthrop, Coulee Dam and several small towns are scattered throughout.

If you’re an outdoorsy person with a thirst for adventure, you’ll fit right in here. You can enjoy fishing, camping, hunting, four-wheeling, river rafting, and skiing. Another notable attraction is the Pacific Northwest Trail, which goes right through our county.

In addition to all of our great recreation, our county also has a lot of wonderful cultural events. Our World Famous Stampede and Suicide Race brings in visitors from all over. Plus, you can also enjoy other fun-filled events like our Family Faire, Garlic Festival, and lots of rodeos.
